Disability Studies Across the Curriculum
The DSI is hosting a course development program in the summer of 2024 for WFU faculty. This program, “Disability Studies Across the Curriculum,” is designed to help faculty meaningfully integrate disability studies into our courses. Faculty who would like to develop a new course module or a new course that engages with disability studies will complete a 2-day workshop in May 2024. Following the workshop, faculty participants will prepare course modules or syllabi on their own over the summer. Faculty participants will reconvene in early August 2024 to discuss their work and share their newly developed course modules or syllabi.
Faculty Commitment:
- Participation in a two-day workshop in May 2024 (lunch provided) (may include assigned preparatory readings)
- Development and submission of a newly developed course module or syllabus
- Participation in a 1.5 hour reflection session in August 2024
Compensation:
- $1,000 stipend for up to 15 faculty participants
Eligibility:
- All permanent Wake Forest University faculty (including faculty in the College, Law School, Business School, Divinity School, and Medical School)
- Temporary Wake Forest University faculty who have department or program support to teach the developed module/course during the next academic year (AY 2024-2025)
